Young fan kindly offers foul ball to friend, friend just as kindly declines

Last night, we saw a Red Sox fan get a foul ball and proceed to give it to a young fan behind him. It was wonderfully selfless, but it also seems to be a growing trend around MLB ballparks.

On Saturday, one fan out in Oakland got a foul ball and proceeded to do the same thing -- only this time, the recipient of the gift even more kindly refused to accept it.

"You take it." "No, he gave it to you." "No, really, it's yours." "Nah, I wouldn't feel right about it."

It's always nice to see random acts of kindness at the ballpark, but if you're under 13 years old, it's totally okay to keep that foul ball for yourself. Especially if you made an awesome catch:
