Vin Scully exhorted the Dodgers to not go gentle into that good night

With the Dodgers one strike away from playoff elimination in the ninth inning of Tuesday night's game with the Giants -- and after having "cut the talking to a minimum" to help fans feel like they were there -- legendary broadcaster Vin Scully invoked some poetic motivation for his team.

Quoting Dylan Thomas' most famous poem -- which was first published in 1951, when Scully was announcing for the Brooklyn Dodgers -- the Hall of Famer exhorted Los Angeles to "not go gentle into that good night; rage, rage against the dying of the light."
