Wait, I thought he retired: Dee Gordon spotted wearing Juan Pierre's jersey

When Dee Gordon first came to Miami, wearing No. 9, it only made sense that he would get in touch with former Marlin Juan Pierre. After all, there are plenty of similarities between the two -- they're both speedy, basestealing, slappy hitters whose numbers when they arrived in Florida are plenty close:
Gordon: Age 26, 1,319 PA, .272/.314/.345, 4 HR, 130 SB
Pierre: Age 25, 1,542 PA, .308/.356/.371, 3 HR, 100 SB
(You can excuse Pierre's elevated slash line by remembering that he was in Colorado during a period of higher offense.)
Given that the two clearly belong to the speedster's cabal, similar to the meetings that knuckleballers have where they drink white wine and share trade secrets, Gordon was sure to congratulate the outfielder when he recently retired. In exchange, Pierre gave his blessing for his old No. 9 to be used.

Sure enough, Dee Gordon came to work on Sunday sporting a familiar name:

Although, he does have to add the stirrup socks if he really wants to complete the look:
