A GIF-tastic highlight reel of the White Sox celebrating Paul Konerko Day
All the GIFs you need to see from Paul Konerko Day
It was Paul Konerko Day at U.S. Cellular Field on Saturday, and the White Sox said goodbye to their captain in style.
Before their matchup against the postseason-bound Royals (whom Konerko will be rooting for), the Sox threw Konerko a celebration bash worthy of his 17 illustrious seasons with the team.
There was a painting and a baseball/art tribute to his jersey number:

and a definitely-super-comfortable bench made out of bats.

The Sox proved how well they know their captain -- he loves to shred on the guitar:

And, of course, there was a statue (and balloons!):

Paul, what do you think of the statue? (I think he likes it.)

Last but certainly not least, the team brought out Chris Claeys, the man who caught Konerko's World Series grand slam. The ball that was so expertly crushed out of the park has finally made its way back to Konerko:

It wasn't Konerko's final game with the White Sox (that'll come Sunday), but it was a fitting sendoff to a player Sox fans won't soon forget.

Paulie! Paulie! Paulie!
