Watch Tigers turn a blooper into a beautiful, ricocheting double play

Watch Tigers turn a blooper into a double play

With the Tigers and Mets squaring off on Friday afternoon, Detroit decided to pull off a Spring Training double play. What's a Spring Training double play, you ask? Basically, it's when a near foible, blooper or whoopsie -- likely due to a winter without baseball -- is turned into something exquisite.

After Anthony Recker's ground ball ricocheted off shortstop Hernan Perez, it looked like it was ticketed for a trip to the outfield grass. Instead, second baseman Andrew Romine was there to barehand the ball, step on second and fire to first base for the double play.
