Yasiel Puig is already BFFs with Jay-Z, Robinson Cano, all of New York
Though I've lived in and around New York City all my life, I've never had a celebrity encounter. Once I thought I saw Mario Batali in Washington Square Park, but in retrospect, that could have been any large, vaguely red-haired man with a ponytail.
But I'm not Yasiel Puig. It took the rising Dodgers star exactly one night in Manhattan to meet everyone, ever.
From the rookie's recent Instagram uploads, Puig appears to have had a great time at a party for the 10th anniversary of Jay-Z's 40/40 Club on Monday -- an event attended by Beyonce, Amare Stoudemire and other incredibly famous people that I'm way too jealous to continue naming.
Here's photographic evidence that the rising star outfielder rubbed elbows with a certain aspiring young sports agent.
Though Los Angeles will face the Yankees in a two-game series starting Tuesday, that rivalry didn't deter Puig from getting friendly with some high-profile Bombers. He posed for photos with starter CC Sabathia ...
... and second baseman Robbie Cano.
The Dodgers outfielder is already using this picture (could that be a selfie? please let it be a selfie) with Cano -- whom he calls one of his "ídolos" -- as his Twitter background:
D'aww.
