Yasiel Puig and Joc Pederson race to the dugout like a couple of kids running home for dinner

Yasiel Puig and Joc Pederson race from the outfield

Up 6-2 over the Mets after seven innings at Citi Field and on their way to a third straight victory, the Dodgers were feeling pretty jubilant. Perhaps none more so than Yasiel Puig and Joc Pederson -- who at the end of the inning  took part in some friendly intra-team competition.

On your mark. Get set. GO.

Look at them, all giddy and joshing each other like a couple of kids running home for dinner.

But even the friendliest of races are no joke. Having proven themselves at the game of baseball -- the pair drove in three of the Dodgers' seven runs on the night, including Puig's two-run homer in the third -- the outfielders turned on each other for a classic test of speed.

It was a nail biter that rivaled any 100-yard dash in the Olympics. But in the end, Puig crossed the finish line (foul line) first.

Unconfirmed reports state that Pederson immediately began shouting "Rematch! Rematch!"
