Need to strengthen your arm this winter? Try yukigassen, Japan's snowball-fighting sport

Rogers Hornsby famously said that during the offseason he would "stare out the window and wait for spring." But Hornsby lived in a time before yukigassen -- an intense snowball-throwing sport from Japan.

You can watch video of the game (which translates to "snow battle") at weather.com. Teams of seven have three minutes to tag all their opponents with up to 90 snowballs, or to capture a flag on their opponents' side of the field.

Could all that snow throwing serve as part of an MLB pitcher's offseason training regimen in the future? Just ask Clayton Kershaw and Randy Johnson -- who tweeted about the possibility of a snowball fight last offseason.
