Pipeline Programs
The MLB New Talent Pipeline Program creates multiple learning experiences and opportunities for early-career applicants eager to begin a career in baseball. Qualified applicants may have some previous experience in baseball or softball and will have desire and willingness to continue to gain experience and learn the business of baseball. Applications will open in the fall of 2025 for the next cohort.
MLB Pipeline Scout & Coaching Development Program in partnership with the Buck O’Neil Professional Baseball Scouts & Coaches Association is designed to provide early-career professionals with opportunities in Scouting, Coaching and Front-Office baseball operations careers. The development program creates a pipeline of talent in baseball and softball and provides hands-on experience to program participants.
MLB hosts the Take the Field program, a two-day event at the annual Winter Meetings specifically designed for people interested in front office and on-field careers within professional baseball. Take the Field provides opportunities for education and engagement with Club and League employees through panels, breakout sessions and professional development.
