TORONTO -- The Blue Jays will have more than 50 players, prospects and alumni in attendance at this year's Winter Fest, which is scheduled for Jan. 19-20 at Rogers Centre. Toronto has turned the carnival-style event into an annual affair. This marks the second consecutive year it has been held at Rogers Centre, and the club uses it to complement the annual Winter Tour, which will be held in Halifax, Nova Scotia, in early January. The list of players at Winter Fest will be headlined by Aaron Sanchez, Ken Giles, Ryan Borucki, Randal Grichuk, Lourdes Gurriel Jr., Kendrys Morales and Justin Smoak. Ricky Romero, J.P. Arencibia, Jack Morris, Juan Guzman, Shannon Stewart, Frank Catalanotto, Jose Cruz Jr., George Bell, Orlando Hudson and Pat Borders are among the alumni who will be in attendance.
Our final #TBJWinterFest player reveal is pitch perfect! 😉
The Winter Tour will also feature the next wave of Blue Jays prospects, including Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Bo Bichette, Nate Pearson, Forrest Wall, Cavan Biggio, Kevin Smith and more. Some of the notable absences include right-hander Marcus Stroman and Russell Martin, who have both been mentioned as possible trade candidates this offseason. Similar to last year, Winter Fest will feature baseball-themed games, a Ferris wheel, a skating rink, batting cages, ballpark tours and interactive events with representatives from the Blue Jays organization. It's a two-day event, but admission prices are per day and the same activities will occur Saturday and Sunday.
