Quintana hits walk-off homer at Double-A San Antonio

Left-handed pitcher Eric Lauer, the Padres' third first-round pick in the June Draft, pitched three shutout innings in his debut with Class A Short-Season Tri-City on Friday night, and Gabriel Quintana homered in the bottom of the 10th to give Double-A San Antonio a 3-2 walk-off win over Midland.
Lauer allowed two hits and no walks with three strikeouts.
Quintana's 12th homer of the season capped a 2-for-3 night during which the designated hitter had a hand in all three Missions runs. Quintana (.254) scored two runs and drove in two. First baseman Luis Tejada (.304) was 1-for-3 with an RBI and a steal.
Left-hander , a product of San Marcos High, allowed one run on a hit and four walks with eight strikeouts over 4 2/3 innings to lower his ERA to 8.64.
Left-hander Kyle McGrath (1.34 ERA) allowed a run on a hit with three strikeouts in 2 1/3 innings. Right-hander (2.47 ERA) allowed a hit with two strikeouts in two scoreless innings. Right-hander Yimmi Brasoban (3-1, 2.25 ERA) pitched a perfect 10th to get the win on Quintana's homer.
Lauer and two relievers combined on an eight-hit shutout for Tri-City.
Right-hander Jordan Guerrero (3-3, 3.86 ERA) allowed five hits with four strikeouts over five innings. Right-hander Jesse Scholtens (0.98 ERA) allowed a hit with a strikeout in the ninth to get his second save.
First baseman G.K. Young (.342) was 2-for-4. Catcher Kyle Overstreet (.216) was 1-for-3 with an RBI and a walk.

Starting RHP Michael Kelly (5-1, 4.41 ERA) allowed six runs on four hits and three walks with five strikeouts in four innings for his first Triple-A loss. RHP Derek Eitel (3.10 ERA) allowed a run on four hits with a strikeout in two innings. LHP (3.29 ERA) allowed a hit with a strikeout in two scoreless innings.
HIGH CLASS A LAKE ELSINORE (18-10, 50-48) -- Rancho Cucamonga 3, STORM 2: Lake Elsinore's nine-game winning streak ended. Starting RHP Brett Kennedy (3.59 ERA) allowed two runs on six hits and a walk with five strikeouts in five innings. RHP Trey Wingenter (2.42 ERA) allowed a hit with two strikeouts in three scoreless innings. RHP Colby Blueberg (2-2, 2.62 ERA) allowed a run on three hits and a walk in an inning for the loss. DH Trae Santos (.218) was 2-for-4 with his seventh homer. 2B Luis Urias (.331) had a double in three at-bats. LF Edwin Moreno (.250) was 1-for-3 with a steal and a run scored. CF Daniel Bravo (.269) was 1-for-3 with an RBI.
LOW CLASS A FORT WAYNE (9-19, 45-53) -- WISCONSIN 8, TinCaps 7: DH Marcus Greene Jr. (.222) was 3-for-5 with three RBIs and his second homer in as many days. SS Ruddy Giron (.211) was 2-for-5 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored. LF Jose Carlos Urena (.170) was 2-for-4 with a run scored. 2B Peter Van Gansen (.230) was 1-for-3 with a double, a walk, a sacrifice fly and a run scored. Starting RHP J.C. Cosme (3.66 ERA) allowed two runs on four hits and a walk with four strikeouts in three innings. RHP David Bednar (0-2, 9.82 ERA) allowed five runs (three earned) on four hits and a walk with two strikeouts in 1 1/3 innings. RHP Edwuin Bencomo (6.59 ERA) issued a walk with two strikeouts in two otherwise perfect innings for his first save. RF Yordi Francisco (.196) had a two-run triple in four at-bats. C Janigson Villalobos (.262) and DH Elvis Sabala (.213) were each 1-for-3 with a walk, an RBI and a run scored. 1B Felix Suarez (.235) was 1-for-3 with an RBI and three stolen bases.
