Phillies Minor League Review: May 21-27

Players of the Week
Player - OF Adam Haseley, Clearwater… The 22-year-old collected 13 total bases over five games, going 8-for-20 (.400) with two doubles, one home run, eight RBI and six runs scored. On May 22 at St. Lucie, he set new career highs with four hits and five RBI. Haseley has posted a .352/.417/.519 slash line with 15 RBI over his last 14 games (since May 10). He was selected by the Phillies in the first round (No. 8 overall) of last year's June draft.
Pitcher - LHP David Parkinson, Lakewood… Parkinson, 22, allowed just one hit to the 21 batters he faced on May 21 vs Hagerstown. He struck out nine over 7.0 scoreless innings and picked off at first base the only runner that reached safely against him. His 1.58 ERA is the sixth-lowest mark among qualifying pitchers in the South Atlantic League this season. The Virginia-native was selected by the Phillies in the 12th round of last year's June draft.
Lehigh Valley IronPigs - International League North Division… 28-21, 1st place… The IronPigs split a four-game set against Rochester before taking three of four at Pawtucket to end the week. Offensively, they lead the International League with 51 home runs this season, 36 of which have come this month.
Top hitting performers - INF homered in three straight games from May 21-23. He drew seven walks, drove in five runs, posted a .423 on-base percentage and scored four times in seven games… OF doubled, homered twice, drove in four runs, scored six runs and walked five times over eight games. He logged his third multi-homer game of the season on May 26. Cozens ranks tied for second in the International League with nine home runs this season.
Top pitching performers - RHP surrendered two runs on six hits over 13.0 innings in his two starts last week, while totaling 12 strikeouts. He has tossed at least 6.0 innings and allowed just one hit in two of his last four starts. De Los Santos' 1.40 season ERA is the best mark among qualifying pitchers in the International League… RHP struck out 10 over two starts (9.0 IP), while allowing three runs and seven hits.
Reading Fightin Phils - Eastern League Eastern Division… 20-28, 5th place… Reading went 4-4 last week, winning four straight games from May 24-26, including both games of a doubleheader at Portland on May 26.
Top hitting performers - INF Zach Green went 9-for-29 (.310) with three doubles, three home runs, six RBI, five runs scored and posted a 1.099 OPS in eight games. He has 15 extra-base hits (8 2B, 7 HR), 20 RBI and a 1.067 OPS in 25 games this month… 3B Damek Tomscha batted .367 (11-30) with two extra-base hits, five RBI and four runs scored over eight contests… OF Jan Hernandez doubled, tripled, homered and drove in seven runs over seven games. His .331 batting average this season ranks sixth in the Eastern League.
Top pitching performers - RHP logged a quality start, surrendering two runs (one earned) on three hits over 6.2 innings in his only outing… LHP Tyler Gilbert retired all nine batters he faced in 3.0 innings of relief (2 games), while striking out four and converting his only save opportunity. He has recorded 12 strikeouts over his last 7.1 innings.
Clearwater Threshers - Florida State League North Division… 19-27, 5th place… The Threshers won three of their five games in a week that again featured multiple postponements due to rain. They outscored their opponents, 34-18, last week.
Top hitting performers - OF Adam Haseley, the Phillies Minor League Player of the Week, batted .400 (8-20) with two doubles, one home run, eight RBI, six runs scored and posted a 1.128 OPS in five games… 1B Darick Hall collected three doubles, six RBI and three walks over five games. He leads the Florida State League with 11 home runs and ranks second with 22 extra-base hits this season… C Henri Lartigue went 4-for-12 (.333) with two triples and three runs scored.
Top pitching performers - RHP Sixto Sanchez struck out a career-high 10 batters over 6.0 innings in his start on May 25. He allowed one run on three hits and did not walk a batter in the win… RHP Connor Seabold logged his fourth consecutive quality start on May 22, allowing one run over 6.0 innings with six strikeouts. He owns a 2.88 ERA (8 ER, 25.0 IP) in his four starts this month… RHP Adonis Medina earned a win in his only start of the week, surrendering one run in 5.0 innings, while fanning five.
Lakewood BlueClaws - South Atlantic League Northern Division… 29-21, 3rd place… Lakewood won both of its series last week, taking three of four against Hagerstown and finishing the week by taking three of four at Delmarva.
Top hitting performers - INF/OF Jake Scheiner posted a .355/.412/.581 slash line, going 11-for-31 with a double, two home runs, five RBI, six runs scored and one stolen base in eight games… OF Jhailyn Ortiz went 10-for-30 (.333), including a double and home run, while scoring six times in eight contests… C Colby Fitch drove in five runs and hit .333 (7-21) in seven games.
Top pitching performers - LHP David Parkinson, the Phillies Minor League Pitcher of the Week, allowed just one hit and recorded nine strikeouts over 7.0 scoreless innings, earning a win in his only start of the week… LHP Will Stewart worked 6.2 innings in his only start, allowing three runs (two earned) with five strikeouts. His 1.45 season ERA ranks fourth among qualifying pitchers in the South Atlantic League… RHP Addison Russ did not allow a run over 4.0 innings of relief and earned three saves in as many chances. He leads the league with 11 saves, 17 games finished and 19 appearances… LHP Kyle Young struck out six in a quality start, allowing two runs over 6.0 innings.
