Matt Hall threw seven scoreless frames to lead Class A Advanced Lakeland to a 4-1 win over Daytona on Saturday, but that should hardly come as a surprise to those following his recent success.
The Tigers' No. 17 prospect has now pitched 43 consecutive innings without allowing an earned run, a streak that has spanned seven appearances (six starts) and began on May 28.
Hall threw 52 of his 88 pitches for strikes on Saturday and limited the Tortugas offense to just two hits. The lefty also struck out five and didn't issue a walk for the second time in his past three starts.
Over the course of his streak, Hall has seen his ERA dip from 5.36 to 2.65 and has boosted his record to 7-3 as he's won each of his past four decisions. Hall's last loss came on May 28, the beginning of his streak, as he was charged with four unearned runs in 5 1/3 innings.
Other top prospect performances from Saturday's action:
• No. 28 overall prospect Lucas Giolito (White Sox No. 4) led Triple-A Charlotte to a 1-0 win with his second shutout of the season. After getting rocked for seven runs in 3 2/3 innings in his last start, Giolitio was nearly unhittable against Louisville. The 22-year-old gave up just two hits and struck out 10 in the seven-inning complete game.

"Having the one-run lead helped tonight," Giolito told MiLB.com. "I felt like I really needed to execute through every at-bat. I couldn't take a pitch off or let my focus go. I made sure I got ahead as much as possible, which we did a pretty good job of tonight, other than a few batters. It's always more intense with a slim lead like that and it ended up being a really good start."
• Giants No. 5 prospect Chris Shaw went a combined 4-for-7 in Triple-A Sacramento's doubleheader sweep over Tacoma. The 23-year-old got off to a fast start in the first game as he went 3-for-4 with a homer and two runs scored before going 1-for-3 in the nightcap.
• Phillies No. 19 prospect Jhailyn Ortiz put together his third straight multi-hit game for Class A Short Season Williamsport. Ortiz doubled in each of his first two at-bats as he finished the game 2-for-4 with a season-high three RBIs. Ortiz has been in a nice rhythm at the plate over the past three games, going a combined 5-for-11 (.455).
• Dodgers No. 21 prospect Edwin Rios hit 15 homers in 77 games with Double-A Tulsa this season and now has one homer in three contests with Triple-A Oklahoma City after going deep in the first game of a doubleheader. Rios finished the game 2-for-3 with an RBI.

• Braves No. 23 prospect Alex Jackson homered for the first time since May 8 as part of a 2-for-5, three-RBI performance for Class A Advanced Florida. Jackson, hitting .275 through 54 games, has matched his career high with 11 homers but saw his pace drastically slow down after hitting 10 of them in April and May.
• Braves No. 24 prospect Bryse Wilson spun his first career shutout for Class A Rome. Wilson, who was pitching past the seventh for the first time, struck out seven without issuing a walk and gave up just five hits in Rome's 2-0 win.

• Phillies No. 24 prospect JoJo Romero spun a gem for Class A Advanced Clearwater, giving up just one hit and striking out nine in six scoreless innings. Romero posted a 2.11 ERA through 13 starts at the Class A level before he was promoted to Clearwater, where he has continued to excel. The lefty has made two starts with the Threshers and has yet to give up a run while notching 19 strikeouts in 12 1/3 innings.
"That's our job," Romero told MiLB.com. "Our job is to make the hitters feel as uncomfortable as possible with your tempo, mixing speeds, changing locations. So it's kind of a thrill for me when you see a hitter up there guessing or taking pitches because they don't know what's coming."
• Giants No. 26 prospect Dylan Davis hit his sixth homer and matched his career high with five RBIs in Double-A Richmond's win over Bowie. Davis hit a two-run homer in the second, a two-run single in the third and added a sacrifice fly in the fourth. The 23-year-old singled again in the seventh and was retired in the ninth, finishing 3-for-4.
• White Sox No. 27 prospect Jacob May hit in both halves of Triple-A Charlotte's doubleheader sweep, but he made the biggest impact in Game 1 as he collected a season-high four hits with an RBI and a walk. In Game 2, May went 1-for-4, bringing his average to .267 through 61 games.

• Astros No. 29 prospect Jorge Alcala put up nothing but zeroes for the second time in his past three starts with Class A Advanced Buies Creek. The 21-year-old threw 57 of his 95 pitches for strikes, striking out five and giving up just three hits in the outing.
• Rays No. 30 prospect Ryan Boldt put together his second four-hit game of the season as Class A Advanced Charlotte topped Florida, 12-7. Boldt, who went 4-for-5 with a triple and three RBIs, got off to a fast start as he had RBI hits in the first, second and third innings. The 22-year-old also singled in the fifth but wasn't able to keep his perfect day alive as he grounded out in the seventh.
