Summer Camps

A word from the Twins Camp Executive Director…

“As we enter the new baseball season, we are extremely excited about the upcoming camp season. We recognize that there remain public health concerns, and through providing a safe atmosphere we expect 2021 to be a terrific summer to be part of the Twins Baseball Camps. If public health guidance demands that alterations be made for the purpose of protecting your kids, we will do that. Most of the photos featured here are from camp seasons prior to 2020. As we did in 2020, we will take whatever steps are necessary to keep your kids and our staff safe. If changes are made, we will keep you informed.”

Tim Rappé

At first, we requested a refund for Twins Camp last summer when COVID hit. But my wife and I reconsidered and sent Josh to the Edina camp. OMG! We are so glad we made that decision. The camp was a perfect example of the balance between a really good camp and keeping the kids safe. It was exactly what we wanted for our son. Josh’s teammates are coming next summer. Thanks Twins!

Short of actually being Jorge Polanco or Max Kepler, Twins Summer Camps presented by Select Heartland Chevy Dealers is as close to the Twins baseball experience as you can get!

From tee-ball to the Major Leagues, baseball is loved throughout Twins Territory. This program serves as a way for the Twins to share their passion with the thousands of players, parents, and coaches who love baseball and softball as we do.

Our program's promise is to provide a world-class Twins Baseball Experience that will forever own a page in the memory scrapbook of every boy and girl who joins us. Read on and see why the summer of 2021 could be the best summer ever for your young player.

Camp Philosophy

Camp Culture

Some kids will come to camp having never played ball before, and some will come with dreams of someday playing at Target Field. Regardless of experience and skill level, each player will have the camp experience of a lifetime. We won't settle for anything less.

A great baseball camp contains a recipe of fun, competition, camaraderie, and excellent instruction. On Monday when you meet the camp staff, you will find them full of baseball and softball knowledge and unbridled passion to share with your kids. While being such knowledgeable coaches, our staff really knows how to create a fun and inviting atmosphere. And, of course, kids love friendly competition. That's why, every day, we include fun competitions and award special Twins memorabilia.

It’s true that we welcome players of every skill and experience level. It’s also true that we put a high premium on having fun. However, this is an honest-to-goodness baseball/softball camp and not a daycare service.

Curriculum

It doesn't matter if your athlete is six and picking up a bat for the first time or 14 and is a top-level player, this camp will profoundly improve each player's skills and ability.

At each Twins Camp session we use a progressive system of hitting, throwing and fielding. The curriculum is advanced to match the progress of the campers. Your athlete may not know it at the time, but he/she will learn movement patterns that we use at the very highest level and based upon the latest baseball science.

Drills are tailored to the experience level of the various age groups to create the best learning environment for everyone.

Safety, Safety, Safety

How can we have a camp with six-year-olds and 14 year-olds? Look at it this way. A K-8 school does not have second graders and eighth graders in P.E. or math class together. They may pass in the hallways, take the same bus, and be in the same yearbook but they are not in class together. Just like school, at camp, they will be in the same place, but not in "class" together either.

We also recognize that not all players of the same age have equal ability. For safety reasons, and because it facilitates the best learning environment, players will be grouped by age and ability. These teams will then stay together throughout the week with the same coach (e.g. Team Polanco, Team Kepler, Team Berrios, etc.). There will be cross-pollination of instructors but we have found that the bonds created between teammates and their primary coach is one of the truly special dynamics at camp.

And yes, at our instructors' discretion, tennis balls, whiffle balls and safety balls will be used liberally at camp. Of course, we will use regulation baseballs and softballs but fear-free confidence is a critical foundation for fun and learning success.

Travel or Select Team Player? We're Ready for You, Too

There isn't much the Minnesota Twins can't teach you about baseball or softball. The bottom line is that no matter how good you are or how good you want to be, we have a curriculum and instructors who will get you ready for that night's game or next weekend's big tourney.

We understand that travel ballplayers' schedules can be hectic in the summer. We will protect your arm if you are scheduled to pitch and you can take it easy if you've got a game that night. Give us a week and you will improve, no matter your current level of play.

Instruction

Camp Details

CAMP FEE

We understand that $399 is a significant investment, and we know that you don't want to hear about how expensive it is to put on a production like this.

Maybe this will help. Consider 30 hours of terrific instruction, four complimentary Twins game tickets, a V.I.P. day at the ballpark, a full Twins uniform, and unforgettable friendships and memories - all for about what some of us pay a babysitter on an hourly basis ($13.30). And this is NOT a babysitting experience! Location of game tickets to be determined, subject to availability. ADA accessible game tickets available upon request.

TIME TO SIGN UP

The registration fee will remain at $399. You may pay the full fee on-line or, if you register before May 1, 2021, you can reserve your spot with a $175 deposit. The balance will be due on May 1. If registering after May 1, the entire amount will be due at the time of registration.

EARLY BIRD SIGN UP DISCOUNT

Register prior to 3/1/21 and receive a $25 discount. This discount may not be combined with any other discount.

GOT A FLEXIBLE SPENDING ACCOUNT AT WORK?

Many parents use their employer's FSA benefit to save even more. Check with your employer to see if the camp fee qualifies as Dependent Care. For FSA reimbursement purposes, the camp's FEIN is 45-0643499.

CAMP TIMES

Camp runs Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

PARTICIPANT AGES

Camps are open to boys and girls ages 6 to 14.

FAMILY DISCOUNT

In order to receive the Family Discount the registrations must be submitted together by completing the "Add another registration" section of the registration form. You may cancel your registration up to 30 days prior to the first day of camp and receive a full refund. You must notify us via email.

EXTRA INNINGS (EARLY ARRIVALS AND LATE PICKUPS)

Camps begin at 9 a.m. and conclude at 3 p.m. However, to accommodate parents' schedules, you may drop off your camper as early as 8 a.m. and/or pick him/her up as late as 5 p.m. An additional $5 will be charged for each early or late "Extra Inning." Just check in with the camp Field Director on Monday morning.

LUNCH

Campers should bring their own lunch and drinks. Please make sure to affix your player's name to these items. And PLEASE send your ballplayer with plenty of sunscreen!

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY

In the event of inclement weather, outdoor camp activities will be moved indoors. Our curriculum has provisions for excellent indoor activities and instruction. We reserve the right to cancel camp days for weather-related reasons and no refunds will be given. Every effort will be made to complete instruction.

FURTHER COMMUNICATIONS

Once you have registered we will communicate additional important camp information via e-mail. Please enter your e-mail address accurately on the registration form. Also, be sure you are entering the parent or guardian e-mail address, NOT the camper's.

CAR POOLING

We will assist you in making car pool arrangements. If interested, check the "Car Pool" box on the registration form. Prior to camp, parents who check the "Car Pool" box will be connected with others who are interested in this convenience.

Amazing Twins Experience

V.I.P Day Trip to Target Field for a behind-the-scenes experience

On one of the five camp days campers will be bussed to Target Field for a day we are sure they will never forget. Imagine playing on the same field as your favorite Twins players. Wow! Buses will depart Target Field at approximately 2 P.M. to return campers to their camp location. The Twins reserve the right to change or discontinue the trip to Target Field due to guidance from the Minnesota Department of Health or Major League Baseball regarding COVID safety.

Every camper will be given a full, MLB quality Twins uniform (jersey, pants, hat and belt)

If you are going to train like a major leaguer, might as well dress like one.

Four Twins tickets to one of several Twins Camps Reunion games

As part of your registration, you will receive four tickets to one 2021 Twins home game. You will be able to select a date from a list of approved dates. Location of game tickets to be determined, subject to availability. ADA accessible game tickets available upon request. If conditions do not allow for tickets in the 2021 season, tickets will be distributed for the 2022 season. The ticket program is subject to change based on COVID protocols, seating availability, or any guidance from the Minnesota Department of Health, Major League Baseball, or the Minnesota Twins.

Every camper receives a keepsake graduation certificate and camp veterans will receive a special edition iron-on patch celebrating their return to Twins Camp.
