Opened in 2020, fans now have another option to easily slide right into and out of Camelback Ranch-Glendale. Ballpark Blvd. has been extended to meet 99th Ave., stretching from Camelback Rd. on the south to Maryland Ave. on the north.
As Ballpark Blvd. previously dead-ended just beyond Camelback Ranch-Glendale, the new extension gives fans the ability to approach the facility from either the north or south. Not only is the road a game changer for baseball games, but visitors can also more directly access Glendale's Sports and Entertainment District - including Westgate, Tanger Outlets, Gila River Arena (Arizona Coyotes) and State Farm Stadium (Arizona Cardinals).
"Adding this new road to Glendale's map is something we are very proud of," said Glendale Mayor Jerry Weiers. "Now, when fans from Camelback Ranch leave the game they will not be forced to go west away from Glendale, instead they'll be able to exit to Westgate and all Glendale has to offer our guests while visiting here, just in time for Spring Training Opening Day."
The new road is one lane in each direction with a reversible center lane to accommodate traffic before and after games.
"Attending a White Sox or Dodgers Spring Training game at Camelback Ranch-Glendale is always a great experience for fans, but now arriving and departing the ballpark will be even easier because of this new road with access to the 101," said Chicago White Sox Chairman Jerry Reinsdorf. "The ability of Ballpark Blvd. to now handle more than 10,000 vehicles each day, plus the direct connection to Westgate, means an even better fan experience for all baseball fans wanting to make the most of their trip to Glendale."
"The opening of Ballpark Boulevard north of Camelback Ranch-Glendale will greatly enhance the Spring Training experience for Dodger fans traveling to Arizona this spring," said Dodgers President and CEO Stan Kasten. "Fans can now approach our beautiful campus from the north as well and the new stretch of road will provide a streamlined exit for those heading to the many entertainment choices in Glendale."
