Adam Jones forgot how many outs there were and then made fun of himself on Twitter
Hey Mr. Jones, how many outs does it take to end one inning of a baseball game?
Orioles center fielder Adam Jones had a bit of a d'oh moment on Sunday when he caught a Josh Donaldson line drive for the second out of the third inning. Jones trots toward the infield like he just caught the third out. Meanwhile, Yoenis Cespedes waltzes home from third to give Oakland a 3-0 lead (the A's would go on to win 10-2).
Luckily for Jones he came to before the runner on first had an opportunity to advance. After the game, Jones took to Twitter to poke some fun at his little gaffe:
Ummm yea there's 3 outs per inning Mr. Jones. At least the man on first didn't advance. But I did feel like tripping myself. But I smiled.- 10 (@SimplyAJ10) July 21, 2014
