Andrew McCutchen cut off his dreadlocks for charity (and you can buy them)

Wednesday, March 25 was already shaping up to be one of the saddest days of the Social Media Era, thanks to the (Facebook) official announcement that Zayn Malik had left British pop group One Direction. (We know, we know ... we'll give you a minute.)

Then, just when the Internet had regained its composure, Pirates outfielder and 2013 NL MVP Andrew McCutchen went and laid this one on us via Twitter:

The silver lining here is that Cutch ditched the dreads for a good cause: His locks will be are being auctioned off on MLB.com with proceeds heading to charity.

So, if you've got a little Glen in "Mad Men" in you and a bunch of expendable income, you can own one of the coolest artifacts in MLB history.
