Australian Baseball League fracas ends with a player being chased through bullpen, off field

It's only January, which means most of us are etching marks in the wall like Andy Dufresne to count down to Spring Training and yelling at people trying to save parking spaces with lawn chairs (not cool, y'all). But in Australia, it's still warm and pleasant ... which means it's baseball season.

The Australian Baseball League's Adelaide Bite beat the Melbourne Aces in walk-off fashion on Thursday night. On Friday, the Aces and Bite pitchers took turns plunking batters until -- in the top of the ninth -- Bite hurler Tony Vocca hit Aces shortstop and former Philadelphia Phillie Brad Harman and a little brouhaha broke out.

OK, so it wasn't so little. Both benches cleared and the Aces chased one of the Bite players up the left-field line, through the bullpen and off the playing field. Eventually all order was restored and the Bite went on to win 8-2. There were five hit batsmen in the contest.
