Attention, baseball: Bartolo Colon and his superior bat control scoff at your defensive shifts

Bartolo Colon beats the shift for a single

Sure, Bartolo Colon may have already left his 2015 hit quota in the dust, but did you really think that would satiate his desire for batting greatness? Did Picasso discard his brushes after painting "The Dream"? Of course not. There is work to be done, lumber to be mastered.

Which brings us to Saturday night in St. Louis, with Colon and the Mets taking on the Cardinals. The Cards, having heard tales of Bartolo's past conquests, shifted him to pull. Little did they know that, with bat control like this, resistance was futile:

Bartolo single

Another masterwork completed, the artist reposed, admiring what he had wrought. And then he realized he was forced to run to second, and responded with one big shrug emoji:

Bartolo running

A Bartolo at rest stays at rest, guys. Geez.
