Gordon Beckham had walk-off hits on Mother's Day AND Father's Day this season
You might know Gordon Beckham as the straw that stirs the drink. The White Sox infielder entered Sunday's afternoon contest with the Rangers having gone 0-for-10 in his last five appearances. In the bottom of the 11th, Beckham changed his fortune and lifted the White Sox to victory with a pinch-hit walk-off home run.
For those of you keeping score at home, that means that Beckham notched walk-off hits on both Father's Day and Mother's Day, this season. Back on May 10, Beckham lined a single off Aroldis Chapman in the bottom of the ninth to give the Sox the win and proceeded to introduce the world to his "straw that stirs the drink" celebration.
Come Sept. 13 -- when the White Sox host the Twins at U.S. Cellular Field on National Grandparents Day -- Paul Molitor and Co. would be wise to pick a different poison if the game is on the line.
