Bobby Abreu went to the Baseball Hall of Fame and all he got was this brilliant photo essay

Abreu visits HOF, creates awesome Twitter photo essay

Memorial Day Weekend marks the unofficial start to summer and no summer is complete without a family road trip. The warm weather, the traffic, the rest stop value meals, the awkward vacation photos ...

Former All-Star Bobby Abreu demonstrated that he's on the top of his game in that last arena when he documented his field trip to Cooperstown, N.Y.

Abreu, who maintained a .291 average, notched 2,470 hits and stole 400 bases over his 18-year MLB career, took to Twitter to document his tour of the Baseball Hall of Fame, where he even stopped to pose with some of his own memorabilia, housed in the Hall of Fame to commemorate his ninth 20/20 season.

Abreu played in 78 games for the Mets last season, so he won't be eligible for Hall of Fame consideration until 2019. Before you dismiss the prospect of his consideration, please recognize that Bobby Abreu has a higher career bWAR (59.9) than Hall of Fame outfielders Willie Stargell (57.5), Joe Medwick (55.6) and Enos Slaughter (55.1).
