Brewers draft pick loves spear fishing, has Shane Victorino's approval
With the 12th overall selection in the 2014 MLB Draft, the Milwaukee Brewers selected Kodi Medeiros, a prep school hurler from Hawaii. Now, regardless of your particular fan allegiance, you should be excited about this fact for a number of reasons:
1. It means it's only a matter of time before we get to enjoy "Banana Pancakes" by Jack Johnson as a walk-up song, bro.
2. Fellow Hawaiian Shane Victorino has given Medeiros his stamp of approval:
Congrats @kodi_medeiros! Proud of ya kid and wishing you the best on your new journey to the big leagues @MLB #TeamMana
- Shane Victorino (@ShaneVictorino) June 6, 2014
3. It means we get to talk about spear fishing.
Upon being drafted, Medeiros was asked to talk about his oddball hobby, to which he replied, "I enjoy it. I'd be doing that now if I wasn't here, actually."
Welcome to professional baseball, Kodi. Mahalo.
