Well, partly. Hornsby (and most ballplayers) didn't wear numbers on their backs until the mid-1930s. The Hall of Fame second baseman did sport No. 4 during his second tour of duty with the Cardinals in 1933, but from 1915-'26 -- nothing.

Although, to really complete the old-school baseball jersey ensemble, this #FANtasking gentleman wouldn't even have Hornsby's name running across the back. That didn't happen until the 1960s. But then we wouldn't know whose jersey it was, and none of this would matter, and there wouldn't be a post, and maybe we're looking too far into this ...
