Chris Colabello nearly completed a Ben Revere-assisted double play, but forgot the baseball

Revere and Colabello nearly turn great double play

Up 2-1 in the bottom of the seventh inning of ALCS Game 6 on Friday, the Royals looked to tack onto their lead with Mike Moustakas on first and Salvador Perez at the plate. Perez got ahold of a pitch, sending it deep toward the left-field wall. KC's catcher was thinking extra bases, Moustakas was hustling toward second and Kauffman Stadium fans were ready to explode over another run. Ben Revere said no to all of these things:

And he ALMOST turned an incredible double play, firing the ball back in to first baseman Chris Colabello. Colabello actually thought he had turned the double play, but, um ...

Nope, you're gonna need that thing over there.

An excellent sell by Mr. Colabello all the same. The Royals ended up winning the game 4-3 and advance to their second World Series in as many years. Tune into FOX on Tuesday for Game 1 of the Fall Classic against the Mets (7:30 p.m. ET airtime, with game time slated for 8 p.m.)
