Curtis Granderson is in Japan, getting pretty into sumo, may soon demand to be called 'Yankozuna'

When the Yankees acquired Ichiro Suzuki in July, did his arrival inspire Curtis Granderson to learn more about Japanese culture? The fellow outfielder is in Ichiro's home country, part of his Asian trip as an MLB ambassador, and learning much about the sport practiced by people with physiques extremely unlike Ichiro's.

Granderson might not have the ideal body type for it either, but he did display an impressive version of the customary sumo squat. He chose not to don the traditional mawashi, but perhaps he'll get one to wear under his uniform à la Aubrey Huff.
