Eric Young Jr. knocks over brothers trying to make catch in stands, apologizes with swag
With two outs in the top of the fifth inning of the Mets' 3-1 win over the Mariners Tuesday, New York left fielder Eric Young Jr. ranged to his right and into the crowd to pull back a foul ball. In doing so, he managed to knock over two young brothers who were at Safeco Field to cheer on the M's.
Young instantly attended to the one who absorbed the biggest impact, helping him back onto his feet. Later, Young returned to the spot of the incident to apologize to the youngsters the only way he could ... with free swag. He hooked the kids up with a couple of baseballs and a wristband for their troubles. They were pleased:
Never underestimate the power of free swag.
