Pitches that hit the dirt before they reach home plate are slangily know as worm killers, and on Sunday afternoon, Pirates starter Francisco Liriano committed a massacre. He threw a pitch that only made it as far as the grass before it bounced off of the ground, descending upon the infield's annelid population like the comet that wiped out the dinosaurs:

But the destruction wasn't over. An inning later, Reds right-hander Johnny Cueto attempted to pick off a runner at first and also bounced his throw:
