Giancarlo Stanton is so hot, he sets off fire alarms just by stepping to the plate

Stanton set off fire alarms just by coming to plate

Though expectations were high for Giancarlo Stanton coming into the season, nobody was quite ready for the slugger's 2014 campaign. Heading into Friday's action, Stanton had put himself in the NL MVP discussion with a .295/.402/.566 line and league-leading 36 HR and 102 RBIs.

He'd been especially hot of late, going 5-for-12 with three home runs over the last three games. How hot is that, exactly? Hot enough to set off the Marlins Park fire alarms when Stanton stepped to the plate on Friday night.

And how did Stanton's plate appearance end? With a double ... to go along with a single from earlier in the night.

Are fire alarms alone enough to alert people to Stanton's at-bats? What we really need are five-minute national holidays where people are legally required to stop working every time he comes to the plate. You know, for safety reasons.
