Henderson Alvarez uses an incredibly elaborate windup to start off games
Henderson Alvarez has a unique windup to start games
Henderson Alvarez, known by most for his 2013 walk-off no-hitter, continues to make a name for himself this season. He's fifth in the NL with a 2.39 ERA and has three complete game shutouts. That's a league-best. The Marlins right-hander also sports a very unique first pitch windup at the start of every game. It's also the best:
"I invented it myself," Alvarez told the Miami Herald. "I liked it and stuck with it. One inning only. The first pitch."
Do this more, Henderson. Do this all the time.
