International students get an introduction to baseball at Busch Stadium

Could there be a greater indoctrination into baseball than watching a game at Busch Stadium?

That was the case for Frishta Aslami, a native of Afghanistan, and more than 25 international classmates from Westminster College during Tuesday's Mets-Cardinals matchup. Most of the students were watching their first live ballgame.

The school, located in Fulton, Mo., hosts students from Nepal, China, India, South Africa, Afghanistan and other places around the world.

"I'm really impressed with the passion of the fans here," Aslami said. "There's such a big crowd here [35,000+ fans], but everyone tells me that there are always big crowds here. They're always cheering and clapping. I like it. I would come back for another game."

Can you blame her?
