Kenley Jansen makes 2015 debut, strikes out four batters in one inning

Jansen strikes out 4 in 1 inning in 2015 debut

Kenley Jansen was close to automatic for the Dodgers in 2014. The guy earned 44 saves -- good for third best in the NL -- and did so while losing just three games and maintaining a 2.76 ERA over 65 1/3 innings.

But Jansen and his incredible cutter started the 2015 season on the DL after undergoing successful foot surgery in February. On Friday, Jansen made his season debut, striking out four batters in one inning.

Carlos Gonzalez struck out to start the eighth inning, but reached first when the ball got away from catcher Yasmani Grandal. Jansen kept his focus and struck out Nick Hundley, Drew Stubbs and DJ LeMahieu to end the frame and help Clayton Kershaw preserve his 100th career victory.

Small sample size notwithstanding, Jansen's 2015 K/9 is 36.
