Joe Maddon rocks short shorts at Cubs practice

When he's not schooling his players in the art of smelling sweet for the ladies or how to properly propose, Joe Maddon keeps busy by managing the Cubs.

On Sunday, Maddon used Cubbies practice as an opportunity to teach his players two lessons: one on baseball and one on lookin' good while doing it.

Maddon took us back to a simpler time by rocking some short shorts at practice.

According to MLB.com's Carrie Muskat, the intent was a "tribute to coach." The manager and his staff were wearing athletic shorts more common at a football practice rather than a baseball diamond. Each coach also had a whistle on a lanyard around their neck.


They say dress for the job you want, not the job you've got. So ... if there's a vacancy on the 1972 Dillon Panthers football coaching staff, we're guessing that Maddon is interested.
