Johnny Football visited PETCO Park, hit a BP homer, reenacted his TD against Alabama and chilled with Bryce Harper
Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel, who you may remember as the first freshman to ever win the Heisman Trophy, took batting practice with the Padres before their matchup with the Nationals on Thursday
It turns out Johnny Football's original love was baseball, and he grew up thinking he'd play in the Majors before realizing his true talent was as a quarterback. He even tried to merge the two during his first pitch, reenacting his legendary touchdown against SEC powerhouse Alabama:
His swing isn't bad, either. He even homered , as per his quarterbacks coach George Whitfield Jr.:
Johnny Football later chatted up the other young phenom present in the ballpark: none other than Bryce Harper, and gave him the broiest dap in dap history:
After seeing all this, it's really not hard to picture the alternate universe in which we're all talking about the young shortstop prospect nicknamed "Johnny Baseball."
Although, in that universe, Manti Te'o would have won the Heisman and we'd all be making bad jokes about the trophy being fake, so maybe it's better that it turned out this way.
