Kevin Pillar may have actually flown through the air to make this catch

Pillar flies through the air to make amazing catch

Remember that scene in "Angels in the Outfield" when Matthew McConaughey gets picked up by a couple of angels and flies through the air to make a spectacular catch?

Well, Kevin Pillar had almost the same exact thing happen to him during Thursday's Twins-Blue Jays game. Except he didn't need any angels (as far as we could see ... maybe blue jays? Blue jay angels?). He just flew:

MLB.com's Gregor Chisholm caught up with the outfielder after the game:

"That was one of those times where I kind of felt like I had a little bit of intuition with the guy on the mound, with the hitter, I kind of felt like I knew where the ball was going to go before it did. I just had a good jump and I'm out there to win games in whatever way possible ... That's just the way I play. That's the way I've always played. That's the way my dad taught me how to play since I was a little kid."

It's another fantastic display of defense that Pillar has demonstrated time, and time, and time, and time again this season. Safe to say, no fly ball is safe north of the border.
