Let catching prospect Blake Swihart introduce you to the Red Sox rookies

Blake Swihart introduces you to the Red Sox rookies

While the city of Boston gets pummeled with snow and MLB looks ahead to the balmy oasis that is Florida during Spring Training, the Red Sox rookies are holed up in Fenway Park getting a head start on the 2015 season.

To pass the time and get to know each other, MLB.com's No. 1-ranked catching prospect Blake Swihart hosted an illuminating round of "Conversations With Rookies," in which he literally conversed with his fellow Red Sox rookies.

Swihart had Mookie Betts explain how he got his signature equipment:

"The bat guy did it."

He reminisced with pitching prospect Eduardo Rodriguez on their time together in Pawtucket last season:

Rodriguez: "My catcher is a little bit like a stupid guy … I threw a fastball and he thought it was a slider, so I almost broke his hand, that's what happened."

Swihart: "Who's the stupid guy?"

Rodriguez: "His name, I think is … Blake Swihart."

And he asked infielder Sean Coyle the most important question of all: "Do you even lift?"

In addition to this whole professional baseball thing, we think Swihart wouldn't be too bad with his own late night talk show.
