Cain skies, Aoki tumbles and Vargas loses his mind over Royals' bonkers Game 1 catches

Cain, Aoki make bonkers Game 1 outfield catches

Look! There, at the western sky! It's Lorenzo Cain!

We're with you, Jason Vargas. We're not entirely sure how Cain made that catch to rob Kole Calhoun of a first inning, first-pitch home run. There must have been some Ozian witchcraft involved with that wicked gravity-defying catch.

Cain wasn't done after the first inning, though, sliding to snatch a hit from Albert Pujols and end the second:

Woo-wee. Can we see those two catches back-to-back?

But wait! Nori Aoki wouldn't let Cain have all the fun. Here he is helping out his high-flying friend to end the sixth inning, stranding Calhoun and Pujols on the base paths and keeping the game tied 2-2:

And in the bottom of the seventh, Aoki took the scenic route to catch a C.J. Cron pop out in right field, leaving Gordon Beckham at third base and putting an end to an Angels' scoring threat.

Wade Davis owes him one:

During the Royals 3-2 Game 1 win over the Angels, we were all Jason Vargas with our collective minds blown.
