Madison Bumgarner fails to lay down a bunt, so he hits a home run instead

For power-hitting pitcher Madison Bumgarner, bunts are merely tactical gestures meant to draw in the fielders and confuse the pitcher. After "failing" to get down a bunt in the top of the third inning on Tuesday night, Bumgarner launched a deep drive over the wall in left center. 

The last time I saw a pitcher pump their fist that emphatically was when Chad Qualls literally fist pumped himself into the ground. 

The dinger was the fourth of the season for Bumgarner, making him the first pitcher since Yovani Gallardo in 2010 to hit that many in a single season.
