Mariano Rivera drafted by Harlem Globetrotters, now has a new post-baseball career option

It's been a pretty great retirement tour for Yankees closer Mariano Rivera. But of all the gifts he's received throughout the season, a post-MLB job offer may be the best.

The renowned Harlem Globetrotters selected Rivera - along with Brittney Griner and several college basketball players -- Tuesday in their seventh annual player draft.

"In the fourth quarter, when the Globetrotters need to close out a game, who better than the best closer of all-time? Mariano Rivera has made a living by finishing off opponents," the team said in a statement.

Gotta admire the spirit of the draft pick -- even if Rivera's more used to throwing balls than shooting them. The real question: would he be willing to swap out Enter Sandman for a different theme song?
