Minor League team plays 'Enter Sandman' to celebrate Mariano Rivera's son's debut
Mariano Rivera makes debut MiLB to 'Enter Sandman'
When you hear "Mariano Rivera" you also expect to hear "Enter Sandman." At this point, it's basically a Pavlovian response, like how hearing Charlie Blackmon's name immediately causes you to grow a full beard (That's what Pavlovian means, right?).
So, when Mo's son, also named Mariano Rivera, made his debut on the road with the Class A Auburn Doubledays, the home team made sure he felt welcome, playing the Metallica song when he came out in the sixth inning:
Very cool of @SCSpikes to give Mariano Rivera Jr. 'Enter Sandman' as warmup music as he debuts for @Doubledays pic.twitter.com/oFTnAMYoGQ

Did the music make a difference? We'll let his numbers speak for themselves:
BOTTOM 6: Mariano Rivera Jr. makes his professional debut and retires the side in order while recording his 1st strikeout! Auburn leads 5-4.

BOTTOM 7: Rivera Jr. gives up two singles to start off the inning, but then strikes out three straight Spikes! Auburn leads 6-4.
