Marwin Gonzalez takes a nasty dive after hustling to first base

A lot happened on this play in the ninth inning of Thursday's Giants-Astros game. Javier Lopez kicked a comebacker to a charging Pablo Sandoval, who made an excellent play to get Marwin Gonzalez at first base.

But that was just the start of the eventfulness, as Gonzalez made an effortful lunge toward the bag that resulted in a very awkward foot-base interaction. His leg bent unnaturally and seemed to act like a spring, shooting his body forward in a scary-looking tumble.

Gonzalez was attended to by Houston's trainer after the play. He's day-to-day with a sprained left ankle and we hope the injury isn't more serious than that.
