Mike Trout's high school has already named its baseball field after him

As the 2012 American League Rookie of the Year, Mike Trout is no stranger to early success. Now, thanks to his New Jersey alma mater, the 22-year-old might be the youngest person ever to have a baseball field named after him. Millville High School rechristened its varsity field in Trout's honor in a dedication ceremony at the Empire State Building on Monday.

Prior to the 2013 season, Mike donated his Rookie of the Year Award winnings -- plus a contribution from his sponsor, BODYARMOR SuperDrink -- to renovate the school's batting cage and field. At the New York City naming ceremony, the Angels outfielder was joined by his high school coach, Roy Hallenbeck, 14 Millville ballplayers and his parents.

"For me, being able to give back is something special and an honor," Trout told MLB.com. "So to give the kids, the coaches and my high school every opportunity to succeed with a better field, better cage, it's very important to me."

Mind-bending fact: Mike graduated in 2009, meaning only last spring there were people still in high school whom he'd attended high school with. At this rate, Mike will have plenty to brag about by the time his five-year reunion rolls around. In other news, your mom called to ask what you're doing with your life.
