Mirror image: Pirates rookie wears number on wrong side of jersey
Before a Sept. 1 game against the Brewers, Pittsburgh rookie Brock Holt had never donned a big league uniform. Since that day, Holt has appeared in three games and already cemented his place in big league sartorial lore.
On Monday, the Bucs second baseman strolled out to his position with a No. 2 stitched into the wrong side of his jersey. Holt apparently sported the fashion faux pas until he was pulled from the game in the eighth inning.
If you were hoping the mistake was the work of a rogue robot sewing machine in the Bucs clubhouse, sorry to disappoint. It was just a human error:
In regards to Brock Holt's jersey today, it was a mistake made by a human being and will be corrected.
