Rays Minor Leaguer crashes into wall to make catch

Johnny Field plays outfield for the Montgomery Biscuits, Double-A affiliate of the Rays. Yes, he is an outfielder named Field. It is an especially apt name, because Field makes plays like this one from Saturday's Biscuits game against the Tennessee Smokies.

When the Smokies' Jacob Hannemann launched a ball deep to left field in the seventh, Field chased it down, leapt, crashed into the illuminated wall and still made the grab to end the inning.

He seemed to hang in the air for a split second, with his limbs splayed, as if he wasn't actually jumping, but flying -- or at least levitating. Like a superhero.

Think about it, if you were a superhero who used professional baseball as a cover, you'd want an alias that was snappy (think the Fantastic Four's Johnny Storm) and just a little descriptive.

You'd want something like, uh, I don't know … JOHNNY FIELD?
