Ned Yost is being sneaky about who will start Game 4 for the Royals

Ned Yost is sneaky about who will start Game 4

Ned Yost is a very sneaky individual, and he did not want to reveal his Game 4 starter on Saturday afternoon.

After Edinson Volquez pitched a gem in Game 1 of the ALCS, and with Yordano Ventura going in Game 2 and Johnny Cueto slated for Game 3, everyone wanted to know who Yost will call upon for Game 4 against the Blue Jays. But when asked ahead of Game 2, Yost wouldn't give a straight answer. Instead, he had some fun with homophones and gave reporters a hint.

Q: You got a starter for Game 4?

A: I do.

Q: Who is it?

A: I'm not sure yet, really, but I'll give you a hint ... his first name is Chris/Kris.

Clever, Ned.

So, either Chris Young or Kris Medlen is starting on Tuesday. But, if you think asking Yost if the starter will be tall (the 6-foot-10 Chris) or short (the 5-foot-10 Kris), don't bother -- the reporter already tried that.
