Nine pitchers combine for first MLB no-hitter of 2015 (it ended in a tie)

The first MLB no-hitter of 2015 ... ended in a tie?

It's only March 8 and we've already got our first no-hitter of the season. And no ordinary one at that.

Cody Martin, Jim Johnson, Josh Outman, Brandon Cunniff, Ian Thomas, Mauricio Cabrera, Lucas Sims, Justin Jackson and Jairo Heredia combined to throw 10 no-hit innings for the Braves, striking out nine Astros in the process.

Cabrera walked Matt Dominguez and L.J. Hoes to start the bottom of the seventh, and dug himself in deeper by plunking the next batter, Alex Presley. Dominguez and Hoes came in to score on consecutive groundouts before Cabrera got Jason Martin to fly out to left.

That long inning proved to be enough to match an A.J. Pierzynski RBI single and an eighth-inning sac fly from Todd Cunningham.
