Nomar Garciaparra throws out the first pitch before Game 1 of the ALCS

Before the Red Sox took on the Tigers at Fenway Park on Saturday night, Nomar Garciaparra was in town to deliver the first pitch. The former shortstop spent almost eight years in Boston -- winning Rookie of the Year honors, garnering two batting titles and going to five All-Star Games all before the age of 30. His first big league hit was a homer back in 1996:

Nomah also hit .322 with seven homers in 96 postseason at-bats. Maybe some of that clutch hitting can rub off on the Sox during Game 2 of the ALCS tonight?
