San Diego artists complete stunning 'Mr. Padre' mural for Tony Gwynn

While the day of Padres legend Tony Gwynn's passing was a solemn one, the days since have seen many celebrations of his wonderful legacy. On Wednesday, a group of San Diego artists completed their own monument to the Hall of Famer -- a vibrant downtown mural.

The artists, a collective known as Wildstyle Technicians, told San Diego's ABC News 10 that their hope is for the mural to help teach future generations about Gwynn's impact on the city:

"For the younger generation that doesn't really know much about Tony Gwynn, hopefully they'll ask, 'Who is that?'" said one artist.

He was Mr. Padre.
