In 2004, four of the best-hitting catchers in history got together to honor Mike Piazza
Piazza breaks Fisk's HR record, honored at Shea
When you hear "Mike Piazza" you think of two things: Pizza (you can't help it, the similarity is just THERE) and his record-setting 396 home runs as a catcher.
But back in 2004, Piazza was still sneaking up on Carlton Fisk who, at that time, led all catchers with 351 long balls. Then, on May 5th, he put himself in the record books with home run No. 352:
On June 18 of that year, Fisk, along with three more of the greatest offensive catchers in history, assembled at Shea Stadium to honor Piazza for his achievements.
