Rickey Henderson broke MLB's career steals record on this day in 1991

Before Rickey Henderson came along, Hall of Famer Lou Brock held the MLB all-time career steals record with 938 over his 19 years in the bigs.

On May 1, 1991, Henderson stole third against the Yankees to pass Brock and take over sole possession of the record.
