Scott Van Slyke and Joe Kelly stage epic standoff on field, are total weirdos
Something amazingly weird (and weirdly amazing) just happened in St. Louis. Before the first pitch of NLCS Game 6, Dodgers outfielder Scott Van Slyke and Cardinals right-hander Joe Kelly engaged in an on-field staring contest, the likes of which we've never seen before.
It's unclear if these guys would have ever given up, had exasperated home-plate umpire Greg Gibson not ordered them back into their respective dugouts. Nevertheless, Van Slyke managed to narrowly outlast Kelly:
